THE LOST CHORD

THE LOST CHORD is a collaborative project spearheaded by composer and producer Louis Marc Vautour. The band has had many incarnations since it's inception in 1993 and continues to explore new directions and expand its growing roster of collaborators. The original band was formed at Moncton High School during a production of the musical "The Wall" with members Louis Marc Vautour (bass), Yazon Kinney (guitar), and Kevin McIntyre (drums). After moving to Ottawa they met singer Jason Perreira (guitar) and recorded several demos. In 1995 they added songwriter Jeff LePage and recorded their first CD "Carpe Diem". After a difficult divorce and a shake up in the band, Louis relocated to Toronto, rejoining Perreira in 1997 originally performing as a trio backed by multi-instrumentalist Andre Skinner (drums), later by Humber students Albert Ponzo (bass) and Andrew McIntyre (drums), exploring the ranges of jazz fusion.

Humber Music can take its toll on musicians and after graduating Ponzo decided to shift careers and explored culinary arts while Perreira studied audio engineering at Harris Institute. followed by a vigorous career mixing films. Louis dug into songwriting and wrote 30 new demos over 2 years.
